Norkosky's hat trick leads Red Knight JV past Orioles

BSM dominates in win over St. Louis Park

ST. LOUIS PARK, Minn. -- James Norkosky scored three goals in a four-point night, Lukas Metcalfe recorded four assists and the Benilde-St. Margaret's junior varsity cruised to an 8-2 win over St. Louis Park.

Norkosky's goal, four minutes, 19 seconds into the game, was the only goal of the first period but Caelan Woog scored on the power play, just 18 seconds into the second period, to get the momentum rolling for the Red Knights.

Norkosky's second goal came less than six minutes before the Orioles got on the scoreboard with 4:27 to play in the middle stanza.

The score remained 3-1 for just 76 seconds before Norkosky completed his hat trick and Metcalfe picked up his fourth assist to give BSM a four-goal lead heading into the second intermission.

The teams traded goals to open the third period, with the Red Knights take a 5-1 lead on Johnny Khalil's third goal of the season.

With a 5-2 lead, BSM then scored three goals in less than four minutes as Jack Rigley found the back of the net with 6:14 to play and Luke Coughlin scored back-to-back goals to round out the scoring.

The Red Knights had nearly a 3-to-1 advantage in shots on goal, outshooting SLP, 34-12. Jack Sawyer made 10 saves to earn the win.

BSM closes out its JV schedule for 2016-17 it hosts Bloomington Jefferson at 5 p.m., Saturday, at the St. Louis Park Recreation Center.


Lukas Metcalfe turned in a season-high four assists versus St. Louis Park.
