BSM defeats Jefferson to conclude season with winning record.

ST. LOUIS PARK -- A three-goal third period enable Benilde-St. Margaret's to overcome an early deficit and finish the 2016-17 season with a winning record as the Red Knights defeated Bloomington Jefferson, 5-2.

The Jaguars, despite being outshot, 11-3, in the first period, scored just three minutes, 57 seconds into the game and held that lead for nearly 20 minutes before Caelan Woog tied the score at 8:32 to the second period.

Just over two minutes later, Jack Rigley, who ended a 17-game goal-scoring drought in Thursday's win, scored for the second consecutive game to give the hosts the lead for good.

Lukas Metcalfe then scored with 57 seconds to play in the period but, when it appeared that the Red Knights would take a two-goal lead into the intermission, Blake Dokken scored for Jefferson just 12 seconds later.

BSM got some breathing room when Everett Palmer scored 3:39 into the final period and Charlie Bischel put the game away when he scored with 2:07 to play.

Jonathan Vitelli turned in a 19-save effort in the victory as the Red Knights held a 39-21 advantage in shots on goal.

The victory enabled BSM to finish the season with a winning record as the Red Knights concluded the 2016-17 campaign with a 13-11-1 mark.
