BSM finishes regular season with back-to-back wins.

ST. LOUIS PARK, Minn. -- Benilde-St. Margaret's had to battle to take a 2-1 lead into the final period but a three-goal third resulted in the Red Knights claiming a 5-1 win over Bloomington Jefferson.

The opening period was a back-and-forth affair which saw BSM finally take the lead when Brian Arnold carried the puck up the left side, cut towards the Jaguar net at a sharp and popped the water bottle off the Jefferson net as he gave the Red Knights a lead with four minutes, 38 seconds to play in the first period.

BSM made it a 2-0 lead, 6:49 into the second period, when Jerome Newhouse won a battle for the puck in left corner of the Jaguar zone. He was able to get the puck to Dylan Hoen in the left circle.

Hoen spun and found Stefan Garcia on the right side of the slot and Garcia one-timed the puck past the glove of Jefferson goalie Even Redepenning.

Hunter Jacobs got that goal back for the visitors and the teams headed into the third period with BSM clinging to a 2-1 lead.

The Red Knights needed just 3:33 into the final frame before regaining their two-goal lead as Nate Clark moved the puck from the right point over to Michael McNeil at the left point and McNeil's slapshot found the back of the net.

From their, the hosts controlled much of the play, getting a goal from Charlie Warnert at 8;13 and Joe Collins' goal with 2:55 to play put the game away.

Zach Everett turned in his second consecutive 20-plus save effort while allowing just one goal as he stopped 23 of the 24 shots he faced.
