Borer tabbed to lead Jr. Predators
Red Knight alum to lead Nashville's entry in NA3HL.
NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- The Nashville Jr. Predators, members of the NA3HL, have named Patrick Borer ('09) head coach for the 2017-18 season.
Borer spent last season as an assistant coach for SUNY-Potsdam (NCAA Division III), where his responsibilities included assisting with daily practices, working with players one-on-one, and leading the team’s special teams. He was also heavily involved with player recruitment and day-to-day operations for the Bears.
Borer brings strong scouting experience with him as well, formerly serving as a regional scout for the Minnesota Wilderness of the North American Hockey League (NAHL).
"Pat clearly understands that our top two priorities here in Nashville are development and advancement of our players. He has an outstanding network in junior and NCAA hockey and he is a tireless worker and communicator. He will help our players achieve their goals," stated former NHL player and Jr. Predators General Manager, J.P. Dumont.
Borer has additional coaching experience as an assistant varsity coach for Armstrong/Cooper High School. He also has worked for Competitive Edge Hockey and Charleston's Overspeed Hockey Training for the last several seasons, and has served as an on-ice and off-ice instructor with both forwards and defensemen in all systems.
Borer was a member of BSM's first Class AA state tournament team, scoring six goals and 22 points as the Red Knights finished third in 2008.
A year later, he served as a co-captain and tallied career highs with 12 goals, 19 assists and 31 points in 27 games.
After two years of junior hockey in the North American Hockey League and United States Hockey League, Borer went on to play one season of NCAA Division I hockey at Niagara University before finishing his career at the University of New England, where he earned a bachelor's degree in sports and recreational management.
