Collins' short-handed goal gives BSM victory.

LAKEVILLE, Minn. -- Jerome Newhouse tied the game early in the third period and Joe Collins put his team ahead late in the final periods as Benilde-St. Margaret's garnered a 2-1 win at 15th-ranked Lakeville North.

After falling behind when the Panthers scored just two minutes, 36 seconds into the game, the Red Knights played from behind for the next 34 minutes.

They finally got on the scoreboard 2:55 into the final period when Nate Clark's pass from the right point found Jerome Newhouse on the left side of the slot. North goalie Caleb Meyer wasn't able to slide across his crease in time as Newhouse ripped a short past Meyer's blocker to tie the score.

BSM would get two power-play chances in the period but were unable to capitalize and then the Panthers went on the power play with 2:29 to play when the Red Knights were whistled for having too many players on the ice.

Carson Limesand made 29 saves to earn his second victory.

The first time North got possession in the Red Knight zone, Dylan Hoen forced a turnover behind his own net with the puck going to Seamus Foley in the right corner.

Collins, seeing the puck going to Foley, immediately sprinted between the Panthers' defensemen and took a pass from Foley in the neutral, breaking in all alone from the red line before beating Meyer for the game winner.

North had a 30-26 edge in shots on goal but Carson Limesand played the best game of his young career. The freshman netminder stopped the final 25 shots he faced, finishing with 29 saves.

The Red Knights take part in the North-South Classic this weekend at Eden Prairie. They will face Brainerd, Friday, beginning at 6 p.m. before taking on Class A top-ranked and defending state champion Hermantown, Saturday, in a 2:30 p.m. contest.
