Thompson's two goals lead Red Knights to victory.

ST. LOUIS PARK, Minn. -- Benilde-St. Margaret's overcame a two-goal deficit and scored twice in the game's final three minutes to take a 3-2 victory from Chaska.

After falling behind, 2-0, in the second period, Will Thompson scored the first of his two goals with one minute, 45 seconds remaining in middle frame to cut the Storm's lead in half.

However, despite outshooting Chanhassen, 34-18, the Red Knights were unable to tie the game until Cooper Gay scored on the power play with 2:43 to play in the game.

As the game wound down into the final minute, the hosts pressured the Storm net and Jake Hankinson's shot from the right point was saved by Chanhassen goalie Brody Amrhein.

However, the puck bounced in the air and over Amrhein's head, landing behind him where Thompson was able to crash the net and poke the puck home for his team-leading 11th goal of the season.

Logan Lyke, who set up Thompson's first goal, also assisted on Gay's third-period power-play tally.

The Red Knights return to action, Saturday, with a 1 p.m. matinee at Hopkins.

Logan Lyke set up the Red Knights' first two goals.
