BSM junior varsity dominates in conference opener

Schliesman's hat trick leads Red Knights to rout of Jaguars.

BLOOMINGTON, Minn. -- Quinn Schliesman recorded his first hat trick as a Red Knight, one of seven players with multiple-point games, as BSM's junior varsity opened Metro West Conference play with a 9-0 win at Bloomington Jefferson.

After the Red Knights took at four-goal lead in the first period, Schliesman went to work, helping to put the game away.

He scored the opening goal of the second period, six minutes, 13 seconds into the middle stanza, he then scored the first two goals of the third period to compete his hat trick.

Ryan Gearen collected a pair of first-period assists before recording his fifth short-handed goal of the season, midway through the second period.

Mitchell Dokman also chipped into the offensive onslaught with a pair of goals, including a power-play tally. It marked his fifth two-goal game of the season and fourth in the last five games.

Aiden Wahlstrom, with a goal and two assists, and Ben Thompson both collected three points as well while Gino Gatti had a goal and an assist and Leo Warner picked up two assists..

On the back end, Sam Schumacher notched his second shutout of the season, stopping 15 shots in the process to earn his third win.

After several long breaks between games in recent weeks, BSM returns to action almost immediately, hosting Chaska in a 12:30 p.m. contest at the St. Louis Park Rec Center.


Ryan Gearen posted a three-point night, including his fifth short-handed goal of the season.
