Zephyrs score twice in the third to mount come-from-behind win.

Ryan Baird's goal at 9:12 of the second period knotted the game at 1-1.

ST. LOUIS PARK, Minn. -- Back-to-back goals by Ryan Baird and Quinn Schliesman in the second period gave Benilde-St. Margaret's a one-goal cushion heading into the third period but Mahtomedi scored twice in the final frame to claim a 3-2 junior varsity win over the Red Knights.

After a scoreless opening frame, Mahtomedi got on the scoreboard first, early in the second period, but Baird tied the game with five minutes, 48 seconds to play in the middle session and, 3:16 later, Schliesman gave BSM a 2-1 lead.

However, the Zephyrs tied the game, 2:12 into the third period, and regained the lead, this time for good, with 7:01 to play.

The Red Knights had a 27-25 edge in shots on goal with Brandon Chapman stopping 22 shots for the hosts.

BSM is back in action, Saturday, for its first road game of the year when the Red Knights go to Blake for a 3:30 p.m. contest with the Bears.
