BSM junior varsity rolls to shutout win at Chanhassen

Red Knights remain unbeaten in Metro West Conference.

VICTORIA, Minn. -- Mitchell West and Quinn Schliesman both scored first-period goals, five different players scored in the second period, and Benilde-St. Margaret's coasted to a 10-0 junior varsity win over Chanhassen.

Schliesman scored on the game's first shift, just 33 seconds into the contest, and West scored less than two minutes later.

The duo then each scored a short-handed goal as the Red Knights took a 4-0 lead into the first intermission.

For the second consecutive period, BSM scored on its first shift as Nick Graczyk set off a five-goal middle frame just 38 seconds into the period.

Ryan Baird scored on the power-play midway through the period before the visitors scored three goals, getting tallies from Ben Norris, Carter Strom and Max Wendt, in the span of 87 seconds late in the period.

Baird scored on the first shift of the final period, at the 24-second mark, with Graczyk setting up the goal for his career-best fourth point of the game.

Charlie Winegarner was the recipient of the BSM onslaught, making 14 saves as the Red Knights held a 52-14 advantage in shots on goal.

BSM will be back at the St. Louis Park Rec Center, Saturday, as the visiting team when the Red Knights take on St. Louis Park in a 12:30 p.m. matinee affair.


Mitchell West's first two-goal game of the season helped spark BSM's 10-0 win.
