Marshall sparks win with four-point outing.

ST. LOUIS PARK, Minn. -- For the first time this season Benilde-St. Margaret's had to play from behind after giving up the game's first goal.

After trailing 1-0 following the game's first shift, the Red Knights responded with four goals in less than four minutes, two of which came from freshman Drew Stewart and, after allowing St. Louis Park to come back and tie the game three minutes, 43 seconds into the third period, scored a pair of late goals, wrapping up their second consecutive, and fifth in seven years, Metro West Conference title.

The 18th-ranked Orioles scored just 36 seconds into the game but Adam Marshall ignited BSM's come back when he scored a power-play goal at 7:57.

Ben Thompson followed less than a minute later when he his from the top of the slot found its way through traffic and into the back of the net.

Grant Ellings set up a pair of first-period goals to help BSM to a 4-2 lead.

Drew Stewart has four goals in his last four games following a two-goal effort versus St. Louis Park.

Drew Stewart would score the Red Knights' next two goals, sandwiching them around a Jack Wandmacher power-play tally. After joining the team at the beginning of the academic semester, Stewart now has four goals and seven points in five games.

However, trailing 4-2, St. Louis Park got back in the game when McCabe Dvorak scored just 1:07 into the second period and tied it when Lucas Hand scored short-handed 3:43 into the third period.

The score stayed that way until Jackson Bisson got the puck in the left circle and snapped off a power-play shot that beat Oriole goalie Josh Middleton with 6:25 to play in the game.

The hosts pressed into the game's final minutes before pulling Middleton for an extra attacker, but Marshall made them pay as he was the recipient of a St. Louis Park turnover in his own zone. He turned a fired the puck the length of the ice and into the empty net with 33 seconds to play.

The second-ranked Red Knights' clinched the MWC title outright with one game left to play, with the 6-4 win.

Tuesday, BSM will take a respite from conference play to do battle with third-ranked Eden Prairie in a 7 p.m. game at the Eden Prairie Community Center.
