Gearen, Schliesman each strike twice in shutout win

CHASKA, Minn. -- Ryan Gearen scored twice, assisted on two other goals, and led the Benilde-St. Margaret's junior varsity to a 7-0 win at Chaska.

The win gives the Red Knights, who have concluded Metro West Conference play, an 8-0-0 mark in conference play and a 10-2-0 overall record.

Gearen kicked off the scoring just 11 seconds into the contest before Quinn Schliesman scored back-to-back goals, at 2:44 of the first period and at 12:01 of the second.

Luke Drews scored less than two minutes after Schliesman's second goal to send BSM into the final period with a 4-0 lead.

Max Wendt's power-play tally at 5:07 came 62 seconds before Ryan Gearen's second goal, which sent the game into running time, where Charlie Hoch scored the game's final goal with 1:41 to play.

BSM had a 56-7 advantage in shots on goal with Sam Schumacher collecting the his fourth shutout in five starts, all of which have been wins.

The Red Knights are off for eight days, their longest break of the season, before taking on Edina, next Friday, in a 5 p.m. contest at Braemar Arena.


Quinn Schliesman added two more goals versus Chaska to give him 18 in 10 games this season.
