Chapman backs BSM with 27-save performance.

EDINA, Minn. -- Benilde-St. Margaret's answered Edina goals twice, once to overcome an early deficit and a second time to break a 2-2 tie en route to a 5-2 victory.

The Hornets' Jack Sorem struck first to give his team the initial lead with five minutes, 54 seconds remaining in the first period, but it took Quinn Schliesman 18 seconds to score the first of his two goals on the night to tie the score.

Ryan Bair then scored with 2:12 to play in the opening frame to give the Red Knights a lead entering the first intermission.

Lucas Cole scored early in the second period to tie the score but Brennan Chapman would shut the Hornets down the rest of the way.

Meanwhile, Mason Baldwin's shot from the left point came on the power play with 7:58 to play in the middle stanza, giving the visitors the lead for good.

Brennan Chapman backstopped the Red Knights' efforts by stopping 27 of 29 shots.

Schliesman added an insurance goal, his 20th of the season, with 65 second to play before the intermission as BSM entered the third period with a 4-2 lead.

The Red Knights then took firm control of the game by out-shooting their hosts, 13-8, in the final 17 minutes to keep the pressure in the Hornet's zone.

Ben Norris finally clinched the game with just 13 seconds to play when his shot from his own zone found its way into an empty net to conclude the 5-2 victory.

Chapman finished the night by stopping the final 16 shots he faced, making 27 saves for the game.

BSM gets little time to rest on its laurels as the return to action tomorrow night, hosting Hill-Murray in a 5 p.m. affair at the St. Louis Park Rec Center.
