BSM to host Blake in quarterfinal round.

MINNETONKA, Minn. -- Seeding was completed, Sunday, for the 2021 Section 6AA boys' hockey playoffs and Benilde-St. Margaret's was seeded fourth.

The number four seed earns the Red Knights (13-5-0) a quarterfinal match up with fifth-seeded Blake (9-6-1), which BSM defeated, 5-2, Jan. 23 this season.

The Bears and Red Knights are meeting in the section playoffs for the second consecutive year. Last season, Blake defeated BSM in overtime in the section championship game.

The Red Knights, who moved up to Class AA in 2005, have received a home seed in all 16 seasons in which they've been members of the Minnesota State High School League's large class.

The other quarterfinal games, Thursday, see top-seeded Cretin-Derham Hall (17-1-0) hosts number eight Hopkins (7-10-0) at 7 p.m. at Charles Schulz Arena.

Second seed Wayzata (10-5-2) will host seventh-seeded Holy Angels (12-6-0) in a 7 p.m. game at Plymouth Ice Center.

The quarterfinal round will be completed by third-seed Edina (9-7-2) hosting number six St. Louis Park (9-4-1). Game time at Braemar Arena is scheduled for 8:30 p.m.

The quarterfinal winners move on to the semifinal, Saturday, with game times to be determined and hosted by the higher seed.

Next Wednesday's section championship will also be hosted by the higher seed with game time to be announced.
