Westan Quirk's first goal of the season gave BSM the opening lead and gave him the team lead with five points on the season.
ST. LOUIS PARK, Minn. -- Westan Quirk scored the game's first goal and Brennan Chapman stopped 27 of 29 shots but Holy Family scored twice in the second period and added an empty-net goal to secure a 3-1 junior varsity win over Benilde-St. Margaret's.
After a scoreless first period, Quirk scored just one minute, nine seconds into the second period as the Red Knights struck first for the fifth time in seven games.
A power-play goal by the visitors would tie the game four minutes later and a second goal, with 2:41 to play in the middle frame, for the eventual game-winning goal.
The only period in which Holy Family out-shot BSM was the third, where the Fire capped off a 13-shots stanza with an empty-net goal with 21 seconds remaining.
The Red Knights, however, held a 33-30 advantage in shots on goal.
Next up for BSM is Thursday's meeting with Blake. Game time is set for 5 p.m. at the St. Louis Park Rec Center.
