Pauly, Koskie register first career goals in Red Knight win.

ST. LOUIS PARK, Minn. -- Mitchell Dokman scored just two minutes, 32 seconds into the game and No. 15 Benilde-St. Margaret's rolled to an 8-0 win over Blake.

With the win, the Red Knights head into Christmas, and next week's Tradition at the Park tournament, with a 4-4-0 record.

With a 14-3 advantage in shots on goal in the opening period, BSM scored two more times before the game was 10 minutes old.

The Red Knights got their second goal from senior co-captain Brady Yakesh when he stepped up from the right point to pick up a loose puck and used a Bear defenseman for a screen.

With 7:18 to play in the opening period, Caleb Koskie registered his first career goal when he knocked in a Tristan Sarsland rebound for a 3-0 lead.

That lead expanded to 4-0 just 3:26 into the middle period when BSM rushed the Blake zone on the power play. Mason Stenger's pass found Drew Stewart high on the left wing boards. He slid down into the top of the left circle and scored his fourth goal of the season.

It took just 101 seconds for Adam Marshall to score his fourth goal of the season, scoring on a second chance off of a Bjorn Lervick rebound.

Ben Norris rounded out the second-period scoring with 7:34 remaining in the stanza, when he took a pass from Stewart as the duo entered the Blake zone with a 2-on-1. Norris' wrist shot found the back of the net and the game would go to running time in the third period.

Adam Marshall was one of seven Red Knights to register multiple point, tallying a goal and an assist.

Brady Yakesh had a goal and an assist in addition to being +6 on the night.

Mason McElroy was the recipient of that defensive effort as he extended his shutout streak to 112:02 while recording his second consecutive shutout with a 16-save effort.

The Red Knights will now break for Christmas before returning to play Tuesday-Thursday with three games in the Tradition at the Park tournament, to be held at the St. Louis Park Rec Center.

BSM opens the event, Tuesday, with a noon match up versus Rogers. The Red Knights play the late game, scheduled for 7:30 p.m., the last two days as they face sixth-ranked Maple Grove, Wednesday, and 17th-ranked Stillwater, Thursday, to round out the 2021 portion of the schedule.

Another early goal, this one at 3:17 of the final period, extended the Red Knights' lead even further.

Gino Gatti recorded his first career two-assist game when he set up A.J. Pauly's first career goal with a pass across the top of the crease which Pauly, barreling down the slot, buried.

Midway through the third period, Bjorn Lervick also recorded his first career two-assist game when he picked up a loose puck on the first side of the Blake blue line.

Catching the Bears in the middle of a line change, Giertsen skated directly to the net, took Lervick's pass and used a forehand-to-backhand move around the goalie and slid the puck into the net for the final goal in the rout.

BSM's defense clamped down on Blake's offense, allowing just 16 shots on goal, out-shooting its guests, 42-16.
