Red Knights' 56-9 shots on goal advantage not enough to secure win.

CHASKA, Minn. -- Seven power-play chances, resulting in 26 shots on goal, and a total of 56 shots on goal for the game weren't enough for the Benilde-St. Margaret's junior varsity to get on the scoreboard and the Red Knights settled for a scoreless tie in their Metro West Conference opener at Chaska.

Fourteen of BSM's 15 skaters recorded shots on goal but the Hawks' Max McGinnis turned aside all efforts.

Ryan Baird led the way with seven shots while Nick Palmer had six, three others had five and five players had four.

Charlie Winegarner picked up a bittersweet shutout as he stopped all nine shots he faced.

The Red Knights are idle for a week before playing host to St. Thomas Academy next Tuesday, Feb. 18. Game time on the East Rink at the St. Louis Park Rec Center is slated for 5 p.m.

Ryan Baird led the Red Knights' 56-shot onslaught with a game-high seven shots on goal.
