ST. LOUIS PARK -- St. Louis Park scored just 28 seconds into the game but Benilde-St. Margaret's responded less than 30 seconds later, scored three goals in a span of one minute, 50 seconds, and an eight-goal opening frame sent the Red Knights onto a 13-2 win.
After the Orioles took the lead, Max Wendt scored his team-leading seventh goal of the season 29 seconds later, Ryan Baird collected a power-play tally 34 seconds after that and Hoch scored the first of his three goals at 2:47 to give the Red Knights a 3-1 lead.
One minute, 35 seconds later, Luke Drews scored before Hoch scored his second goal and Mitchell West tallied with 7:26 to play in the opening period.
St. Louis Park got a power-play goal 1:07 later by Liam Moser and Westan Quirk closed out the period with goal for the Red Knight, completing a wild, 10-goal first period which saw BSM take an 8-2 lead into the first intermission.
After setting up Quirk's goal to close out the first period, Hoch set him up again, at 3:04, to start the second period before completing his hat trick just over six minutes later.
Maceo Phillips and Ryan Baird scored goals in the final 1:31 of the middle frame and the third period was slated for running time.
Liam Kyle scored 1:29 into the final period and, with time running, the hosts coasted through the game's final 15-plus minutes.
Westan Quirk scored twice, added an assist and was +6 in the victory.
The Red Knights also dominated in the shots on goal totals, holding a 52-16 advantage.
Charlie Winegarner needed just 14 saves to collect his team-best fourth win of the season.
