Hoch's hat trick leads Red Knights to road win over Jaguars.

BLOOMINGTON, Minn. -- Charlie Hoch scored the game's first goal and added two more in the third period to help put the game away as the Benilde-St. Margaret's junior varsity claimed a 7-3 win at Bloomington Jefferson.

Hoch and Ryan Baird scored goals less than five minutes apart in the opening period as the Red Knights took a 2-0 lead into the first intermission.

The Jaguars cut the lead in half to open the scoring in the second period but Max Wendt restored the two-goal lead with two minutes, 47 seconds to play before the end of the middle frame and, with 57 seconds to play, Baird scored short-handed to send the game into the final period with BSM holding a 4-1 lead.

Once again, Jefferson scored the opening goal of the period but Hoch then scored the first of his two goals in the final period.

Jefferson hung around with a power-play goal with 5:08 to play and the scored remained that way into the final minute of the game

The Red Knights finally capitalized on a 20-6 advantage in shots on goal in the final 15 minutes as Hoch scored into an empty net with 23 seconds to play and Charlie Conway managed to beat the final horn to complete the game's scoring.

Thanks to its advantage in the final period, BSM held a 47-22 advantage in shots on goal for the game with Brennan Chapman earning the victory by stopping 19 shots.

The Red Knights return home, Thursday, to face Holy Angels in a 5 p.m. game at the St. Louis Park Rec Center.

Ryan Baird scored his eighth and team-leading ninth goals of the season, including a short-handed tally.
