STILLWATER, Minn. -- Five different players scored goals and 13 of 14 skaters contributed shots on goal as the Benilde-St. Margaret's junior varsity posted a 5-1 win over Mahtomedi.

Using a 13-6 advantage in shots on goal in the opening 17 minutes, the Red Knights got goals from Liam Kyle and Nick Palmer to give their team a 2-0 lead heading into the first intermission.

The second period played out much the same, with BSM holding a 13-5 advantage in shots on goal, but the teams traded goals as Ryan Baird scored just nine second into the frame before the Zephyrs lone goal came on the power-play.

Leading 3-1, the hosts tried clawing their way back into the game but Brennan Chapman turned aside all 10 shots Mahtomedi threw at him.

Meanwhile, the visitors added two more goals with Xander Wilharm scoring his second goal of the season before Charlie Hoch finished the scoring with his ninth goal of the season with two minutes, 38 seconds to play.

In all, Chapman stopped 20 shots, including all 19 even-strength shots by Mahtomedi, as BSM out-shot its hosts, 37-21.

Next up for the Red Knights is a return to Metro West Conference play as they travel to Waconia for a 5 p.m. game at the Waconia City Arena.

Xander Wilharm was one of five Red Knights to score goals in the victory.
