Norris scores twice in 4-1 Red Knight victory.

ST. LOUIS PARK, Minn. -- A three-goal third period enabled 10th-ranked Benilde-St. Margaret's to end #3 Chanhassen's 16-game winning streak with a 4-1 win.

The Red Knight Player of the Game was Ben Norris, who scored twice, including a power-play goal, and assist on the game's first goal as his line, with Caleb Koski and Michael Risteau were responsible for three goals and six points.

The scoring started just one minute, 17 seconds, into the game when Norris started up ice along the right-wing boards before head-manning the puck to Koskie.

Koskie then carried the puck deep into the right corner of the Storm zone before making a pass across to the left side, which Risteau quickly deposited into the net.

The game was evenly matched throughout the first period but the Red Knights scored twice in last five minutes of the frame.

It became a 2-0 game with 4:24 to play in the opening frame when Drew Stewart won a faceoff in his own zone to Maceo Phillips, who rang the puck around the boards and Wes Berg tipped the puck into the Chanhassen goal.

Ryan Baird then raced into the zone, retrieved the puck behind the net and made a pass out front, which Stewart buried for his team-leading 18th goal of the season.

Norris then scored the first of his two goals with 3:16 to play in the frame when Mason Minor picked up the puck in his own zone and centered the puck to Norris, who skated all the way from outside his own blue line, used a toe-drag move to split two Storm defensemen, and finished the play with his fifth goal of the season.

Mason McElroy came within four minutes of a shutout with a 22-save effort.

After a scoreless second period, Norris added his second, a power-play tally, when he walked the puck off the left wall and ripped a shot from inside the blue line to give him 12 points in his last seven games.

Meanwhile, McElroy was within 3:52 of his second shutout of the season when Gavin Uhlenkamp scored for Chanhassen.

The win was BSM's ninth in their last 10 games and raises its record to 13-5-0, including a 5-0-0 mark in Metro West Conference play.

The Red Knights are home again, Tuesday, to face another MWC opponent in Waconia. The game is scheduled to get underway at 6 p.m.
