Red Knights suffer defeat at Chanhassen
Storm score twice in each period to shut out BSM.
VICTORIA, Minn. -- With a chance to wrap up at least a share of the Metro West Conference title, #7 Benidle-St. Margaret's saw #4 Chanhassen lock up a share of their first MWC title with a 6-0 win.
The Storm scored twice in each period and had a 40-21 advantage in shots on goal, including a 17-6 advantage in the opening period to set the tone for the game.
A 5-on-3 power-play goal brought on a goalie change for the Red Knights, after Mason McElroy stopped 32 of 37 shots before giving way to Brennan Chapman, who finished up the final 12 minutes, 49 seconds of the game.
The Red Knights can still wrap up a share of their seventh MWC title in nine years when they take on New Prague, Friday, at the New Prague Community Center. Opening faceoff is slated for 7:15 p.m.
