Red Knights earn third seed in Section 6AA playoffs
BSM to open playoffs by hosting Blake.
MINNETONKA, Minn. -- The Section 6AA boys' hockey seedings were announced today and Benilde-St. Margaret's earned the third seed and will face Blake in one of four quarterfinal matchups.
The teams will square off at 5:30 p.m. at the St. Louis Park Rec Center in their second meeting of the season.
The Red Knights defeated the Bears, 11-3, on Dec. 20 at Blake Arena, led by a career-high six-point performance by Drew Stewart.
The remainder of the Section 6AA quarterfinals see top-seeded Wayzata facing Hopkins and second-seeded Edina meeting Armstrong/Cooper, both of which are slated for 7 p.m. starts at Plymouth Ice Center and Braemar Arena, respectively.
Fourth-seeded St. Louis Park will take on Holy Angels at the SLP Rec Center, beginning at 8 p.m.
Thursday's winners will play in the Section 6AA semifinals, Saturday, at Bloomington Ice Garden. The winners off the Wayzata-Hopkins and St. Louis Park-Holy Angels games will play at 3 p.m. while the Edina-A/C Wings and BSM-Blake winners will square off at 7 p.m.
Saturday's winner will play in Wednesday's Section 6AA championship game at 7 p.m. at BIG.
