Fifteen skaters record points in 9-2 victory.

ST. LOUIS PARK, Minn. -- A five-goal first period No. 11 Benilde-St. Margaret's off to a fast start and the Red Knights went onto a 9-2 Metro West Conference win over New Prague.

Junior Podein kicked things off quickly by scoring just 28 seconds into the game, extending his point-scoring streak to 15 games, giving him goals in nine of his last 10 games.

Not even three minutes later Christian Beck snapped a shot from the right circle past the glove of New Prague goalie Cole Murphy.

BSM continued firing on all cylinders as Keegan Davis deflect a pass from A.J. Ulrich and, barely four minutes into the game, the hosts had a 3-0 lead.

With a 16-1 advantage in shots on goal in the opening 17 minutes, the Red Knights scored twice more with Ulrich scoring on the power play with Tyler Kirschner scoring his first career goal with 5:05 remaining in the period.

BSM made it 6-0 at 3:21 of the second period when Beck scored his second goal of the game before the Trojans finally got on the scoreboard with a power-play goal.

Keegan Davis notched his fourth multiple-goal game of the season.

The Red Knights scored three consecutive goals by Grayson Quirk, Davis' second of the game, a power-play tally, and Mason Minor's shot from the left point.

New Prague got another power-play, with one minutes remaining in the middle session, and the team's skated through a scoreless third period.

BSM was 15 of its 18 skaters record points and all 18 had a positive plus/minus rating

Next up for the 11th-ranked Red Knights is Tuesday's non-conference tilt with No. 15 Holy Angels. Opening faceoff is slated for 7 p.m. at the Richfield Arena.
