MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. -- The Benilde-St. Margaret's boys' hockey team wrapped up its 2024-25 season with it's annual banquet, hosted at Jax Cafe.
The banquet featured dinner for players, staff and guests, and was followed by the presentation of awards.

BSM Scholar-Athlete Award
Callan earned All-MWC honors as he registered career highs in virtually every category, including his three goals, 17 assists and 20 points.
He also recorded a career-high and team-leading 21 blocked shots while ranking second on the team in time on ice.
Sporting the top grade point average among the Red Knights, Callan was also named the as the team's top scholar-athlete.
An accomplished golfer, who helped BSM to its first state title last year before winning the Minnesota State Junior Boys' Championship, he has accepted a golf scholarship from the University of South Dakota.

Davis began his first season as a Red Knights in style, scoring twice in his first game while scoring seven goals, including a hat trick, and 12 points in his first six games.
He was third among team forwards in time on ice and led the team's forwards in short-handed time on ice.
Davis was second on the team in goals (17), power-play and game-winning goals (4), and led the team in unassisted goals (3).

Vic St. Martin Coaches Award
A valuable member of the Red Knights, Johnson saw action on both wings and, late in the season, was moved back to defense.
He scored his biggest goal of the season when he scored in overtime to hand Class AA state tournament qualifier, Andover, a 6-5 loss. Johnson also potted the game-winner in a 4-2 win over 13th-ranked Eden Prairie.
He finished the season with four goals, seven points and a plus/minus rating of +16.

An honorable mention all-conference pick in 2024, Kirschner tallied 17 goals and 45 points en route to all-conference honors in 2025.
A co-captain as a senior, he was second in goals, assists (28) and points for the Red Knights.
Kirschner played in all 27 games in each of the last two years and played in 59 consecutive games over three seasons.

In his third season as a Red Knight, Minor led the Red Knights in assists (29), shots on goals (142), and reached double digits in goals (10) for the first time, including a hat trick and four points in a 4-2 win at Grand Rapids.
For his efforts, Minor was named All-Metro West Conference for the second consecutive season.
Minor has recorded 21 goals and 89 points in 78 career games, and is on track to become the fourth defenseman in school history to record 100 career points.
With a career plus/minus rating of +78, he has never had a rating less than +23.
Minor has also amassed 327 shots on goal, which ranks eighth since 2006, and his 142 shots this season are tied for 10th all-time and tops among Red Knight defensemen.

In his lone season as a Red Knight, Mulheran recorded career highs in goals (3), assists (10) and points (13).
Mulheran also set a career high when he scored a pair of goals in a win at Chaska.
Of his 10 assists, four came on special teams, including three power-play assists.
He was also second on the team with 17 blocked shots.

Hobey Baker Character Award
Perreault earned his award after serving as the team's backup goalie for two seasons.
As a senior, he nearly quadrupled his minutes player and, after winning his only start in 2023-24, Perreault started six games and posted a 4-0-0 record.
Four of his six starts resulted in quality starts and he posted an .880 save percentage and a 2.56 goals against average.

The 2024-25 campaign got off to an inauspicious start for Podein, who missed the season opener and failed to score a point in the second game of the season, a 3-1 win at Armstrong/Cooper.
After that, no one could contain him as he recorded a point in 25 consecutive games, including an eight-game goal-scoring streak at four hat tricks.
In the regular-season finale, he scored four consecutive goals against Chanhassen, two of which were on the power play and the other two were short handed.
Not only did Podein finish second on the team in shots on goal, but he led the team in shooting percentage (.222).
Along with that, he was the team lead in goals (30), points (55), power-play (7), short-handed (4), first (5) and game-winning goals (6), in addition to his team best four hat tricks.
Podein's 30 goals were the most by a Red Knight since Spencer Naas scored 31 in 2013-14, and his 55 points were the most since Cade Gleekel recorded 59 points in 2015-16.

Performing numerous roles in a variety of situations, Quirk proved to be a valuable member of the the Red Knights during his junior campaign.
At various times, he played on the power-play and penalty-kill units, and served as both a top-six and bottom-six forward.
He scored a key goal in a 7-5 win at No. 10 Holy Angels in the second game of BSM's 10-game winning streak late in the season.

Best Defensive Forward
Used much like Quirk, Salmon's biggest contribution to the Red Knights came in the faceoff circle, where he led the team by winning 73 percent of his draws.
Two of his three goals on the season came in wins over ranked opponents, #15 Shakopee and #19 Champlin Park.
Salmon was also played on BSM's No. 2 penalty-kill units and was fourth among the team's forward in penalty-kill time on ice.

Andrew Alberts Most Improved Player
Given limited minutes early in the season, and relegated to junior varsity play in three of the season's first seven games, Smith came on by the end of the season to be a regular on the Red Knight blue line.
He had career highs with two goals and three points in a home win versus Chaska, and eight of his 12 points came in season's final 11 games.

Ulrich recorded career highs in goals (12), points (20), shots on goal (7), shooting percentage (.171), power-play (4) and game-winning (2) goals.
He record his first career two-goal game, with both goals coming on the power play, in a 4-3 win at Chanhassen.
Over his last two seasons, Ulrich played in all 27 games and finished his career playing in 60 consecutive games.
