Red Knight alum records first goal for AHL's Colorado Eagles

SAN JOSE, Calif. -- Making his professional debut with the Colorado Eagles, the top affiliate of the NHL's Colorado Avalanche, Cooper Gay ('20) registered his first career goal in last night's 6-3 loss to the San Jose Barracudas.

The Eagles lead the AHL's Pacific Division with 86 points with six games to play, and have clinched a spot in the Calder Cup Playoffs.

Gay signed an Amateur Tryout Agreement with the Eagles after the Avalanche signed him to a two-year entry-level contract.

He attended the 2024 Avalanche Development Camp last summer and signed his contract, March 26, foregoing his senior year of collegiate eligibility.
