The Owatonna Express, of the North American Hockey League, has announced that forward Stephen Carew, a 2007 BSM graduate, has committed to play at the U.S. Air Force Academy next season.

Carew leads the Express, through 16 games, with 10 goals and two game-winning goals. He is also tied for the team lead with three power-play goals and 13 points.

Last season, Carew was with the Green Bay Gamblers, of the United States Hockey League. He led his team in shooting percentage (.169) while scoring 11 goals and 19 points in 54 games.

Carew ranks tied for sixth in career scoring (117) and seventh in career goals (58) at BSM. His 56 points during his senior campaign tied for seventh on the school's single-season scoring list.

Air Force plays in the Atlantic Hockey Association and is the only unbeaten and untied team in Division I hockey at the present time, with a record of 8-0-0. The Falcons are ranked 13th in the USCHO.com/CBS College Sports Division I poll.
