Trio of alums leading college teams at break

A trio of Benilde-St. Margaret's alum are leading their respective college teams in scoring at the holiday break.

Providence College freshman Matt Bergland ('08) leads his team with 11 assists and 16 points, and shares the Friars' lead with five goals. He is eighth in Hockey East in both assists and points. His 11 helpers are tops in the league among rookies and he is tied for the league scoring lead among freshmen.

Nationally, his point total is tied for second and his assist total ranks third. Averagining 1.00 points per game, he is tied for third nationally.

Dartmouth sophomore Adam Estoclet ('07) has 15 points in 10 games to lead the Big Green, He also leads the team with 10 assists and two power-play goals. He has more than doubled his point total (7) from his freshman campaign. He is tied for third in points and ranks fourth in assists in the Eastern College Athletic Conference Hockey Leauge.

After being held without a point in a season-opening 4-1 loss at Harvard, Estoclet has scored points in nine consecutive games, during which time Dartmouth has posted a 6-3-0 record.

Nationally, his 1.50 points per game is tied for second and he is tied for fourth with 1.00 assists per game.

St. Olaf sophomore Isak Tranvik is in his first season with the Oles after transferring from Quinnipiac and leads his team in goals (5), assists (9) and points (14).  He is tied for fourth in assists and fifth in points in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
