Benilde-St. Margaret's scored five goals in the first period, four of which came on the power play, and it cruised to a 7-1 win over St. Louis Park.

Joe Anderson scored the only even-strength goal of the opening frame, just one minute, 26 seconds into the contest, but the Red Knights then scored on four consecutive power-play chances.

The first came at 8:01 of the opening period when Joe Anderson scored his first goal of the season.

A little more than three minutes later, already on the power play with an extra attacker on the ice due to a delayed penalty on the Orioles, Chase Mlnarik gave BSM a 3-0 at with 3:34 to play.

On the ensuing power play, just 47 seconds later, Sean O'Toole put his team ahead 4-0 and added his team-leading seventh goal of the season with 13 seconds remaining in the opening frame.

From that point, the score remained unchanged until Alex Brask scored his first goal of the season at 9:06 of the second period, a goal which St. Louis Park got back before the period was out.

However, Brask's second goal of the game restored the six-goal lead with 4:17 to play in the game to put the contest into running time.

Twelve of the Red Knights' 15 skaters recorded points in the contest. John Kernan had three assists to lead the way while Anthony Brask and Michael Blessing both had two helpers.

BSM returns to action for its final game before Christmas, hosting Rochester Century, Dec. 23, at 5 p.m.
