Red Knights pepper Panthers with 64 shots on goal

Benilde-St. Margaret's used a 60-shot advantage to cruise to a 9-0 win over Rochester Century.

Taylor Topousis, one of four Red Knights to score their first goal of the season in the game, started the offensive onslaught three minutes, 24 seconds into the game when his shot found the back of the net from the top of the right faceoff circle.

Joe Anderson scored his second of the season at 9:15 and Alex Dale got his first goal with 1:38 remaining in the opening stanza for a 3-0 BSM lead.

Alex Brask scored his third goal in two games at 3:53 of the second period but, despite tallying 23 shots in the period, it took BSM until 24 seconds remained in the period to get their fifth goal, a power-play marker by John Kernan.

A four-goal third period cemented the win. Kernan tipped in a Dan Pemberton shot for his second power-play goal of the game to put the game into running time. Ryan Minkoff and Chris Flood scored their first goals of the season, sandwiching their tallies around Sean O'Toole's team-leading eight goal of the season.

BSM is in action again Monday, Dec. 29, when it faces Burnsville in the Schwan Cup at Highland Arena in St. Paul. Game time is slated for 12:30 p.m.
