Clark stops 24 in 2-1 win

Adam Clark stopped the first 21 shots he saw through 40 minutes of play, finished with 24 saves and backstopped Benilde-St. Margaret's to a 2-1 win over Minnetonka.

The teams battled to a scoreless draw through the first half of the contest, but, at seven minutes, 36 seconds of the middle period, the Red Knights struck as Chris Flood's shot from the left circle hit Skipper goalie Alex Glockner in the shoulder but found its way into the net.

The visitors, despite being outshot, 12-6, in the second period, made it 2-0 when Dan Kuenzi took a Michael Blessing pass and found the back of the net from the left circle.

BSM, which had managed to kill a pair of first-period penalties and kept Minnetonka off the scoreboard for over 40 minutes, was unable to preserve the shutout as Joe Fisher scored with 4:40 to play in the game.

However, the Red Knights regrouped and held onto the one-goal lead to raise their record to 10-1-0 on the season.

BSM returns home Tuesday, Jan. 13, when it hosts Edina at the St. Louis Park Rec Center beginning at 5 p.m.
