Besse earns Associated Press top honor

Red Knight leader adds another award to growing list.


Grant Besse landed the AP Player of the Year Award to go with his Metro Player of the Year honor and Mr. Hockey Award.

The Associated Press has named Grant Besse its player of the year for 2012-13.

The Red Knights' record holder for points (272) and goals (163) earned the honor after leading his team to 22 wins and a second consecutive Section 6AA final appearance.

BSM finished the regular season ranked second as Besse capped his four-year career by scoring 48 goals and 76 points. He also led the team with 11 power-play and three short-handed goals, tied for the team lead with seven game-winning goals and led Red Knight forwards with 13 blocked shots.
