No rest for some BSM players, even after the high school season ends.

Grant Besse

Besse finished his high school career ranked fifth in state history in goals (163) and seventh in points (272).

The summer had been uneventful for Minneosta's 2013 Mr. Hockey Award winner until the NHL Draft, June 30.

On that day, Besse became the fifth BSM alum to be selected in the NHL Draft and just the second, following Patrick Daly in 2011, to be selected after his senior season as a Red Knight.

"With Grant it comes back to the level of passion I sensed from our scouts," Anaheim director of amateur scouting Martin Madden said. "Three guys had real passion for Grant.

"He went through the draft last year after a very good high school hockey season and this year he had an unbelievably productive season, and it showed that he’s dedicated and motivated to get better.

"One thing he can do is score goals, and that’s what we drafted him for. If he makes it, it will be a home run type pick."

Besse particpated in the Ducks' conditioning camp scrimmages, July 5-7, along with 30 other prospects in the Anaheim organization.

T.J. Moore

Moore is one of five Red Knights to reach the 70-goal plateau for his career, recording 70 goals and 163 points.

After battling through an injury-plagued senior season, Moore was selected in Phase 2 of the United States Hockey League draft, 117th overall, by Waterloo. He was one of five Red Knights taken in the USHL selection process for 2013.

Phase 2 of the USHL draft consisted of players from multiple birth years in order for USHL teams to reach their limit of 45 players.

"It shows the regard for program that we had as many players selected as we did," BSM head coach Ken Pauly stated. "Our program continues to produce quality players and this is more recognition of that fact."

Johnny Austin

Austin led Red Knight defensemen in nearly every statistical category in 2012-13 and led the team by averaging 24:44 of ice time per game.

Austin led Red Knight defensemen in nearly every statistical category in 2012-13 and led the team by averaging 24:44 of ice time per game.

One of the Red Knights' co-captains for the 2013-14 season, Austin helped the Section 2/6 team to a runner-up finish at the High Performance 18 Spring Festival, March 22-24, at Wakota Arena in South St. Paul.

Austin registered a goal and two assists in three games and was also selected to the Minnesota U18 which competed in the CCM National Inviational Tournament, April 25-28, at the Plymouth Ice Arena.

Spencer Naas

Naas' 34 goals for the Red Knights in 2012-13 ranks sixth on BSM's all-time list.

Like Austin, Naas participated in both the High Performance 18 Spring Festival and the CCM National Invitational Tournament, playing along side his fellow 2013-14 co-captain in both events.

Naas was also one of the five Red Knights selected in the USHL draft, being selected 103rd overall in Phase 2 of the draft.

Jack Jablonski

Jablonski will serve as one of the Red Knights' co-captains for 2013-14.

The summer has consisted of continued rehabilitation work for Jablonski along with a trip to Chicago, where he was able to experience the Chicago Steel's tryout camp after the team made him their final selection in Phase 2 of the USHL draft.

The Jack Jablonski BEL13VE in Miracles Foundation Gala will be held July 25th at the Xcel Energy Center. For more information on the foundation and event, go to the web site http://www.jabby13.com/page/show/506158-2013-bel13ve-in-miracles-gala.

Evan Fleming

In Fleming's first full varsity season, he tallied five goals and 13 points in 22 games.

Fleming was the lone Red Knight representative at the High Performance 17 Spring Festival, April 19-21, at the Plymouth Ice Arena.

In three games during the tournament, he registered an assist as part of the Section 6 team which lost in the championship game.

Chase Jungels

Jungels scored eight goals during the 2012-13 season, including both Red Knight goals in the Section 6AA championship game.

Jungels' work has led him to the High Performance 16 National Camp, taking place in Rochester, N.Y., July 7-13.

At the HP 16 Spring Festival, he scored two goals and four points as the Section 6 team finished second in the tournament.

From there, Jungels was selected for the HP 16 Final 54, where he led the Blue team to a 2-1-0 record, tying for second in tournament scoring with five points, scoring two goals including a game winner.

Jungels was also one of BSM's five players selected in the USHL draft, taken 261st overall by the Chicago Steel.

Mark Kaske

Kaske recorded two assists in 10 varsity games in 2012-13 after scoring 16 goals and 23 points in 17 JV contests.

One of four Red Knights to suit up for the Section 6 team at the HP 16 Spring Festival, Kaske tied for the tournament lead with four assists and six points, scoring a pair of goals, which included a game winner.

Along with Jungels, he moved onto the Final 54 event, where he scored three goals and four points in three games for the Red team.

Ben Newhouse

Newhouse scored two goals, both game winners, and 22 points as a sophomore in 2012-13.

One of BSM's four co-captains for 2013-14, and the only junior, Newhouse was one of the five Red Knights at the HP 16 Spring Festival and was one of three to advance to the HP 16 Final 54.

During the Festival, he registed a goal and an assist in three games before being selected for the Final 54, joining Kaske on the Red team, where he recorded an assist in three games.

Newhouse was the lone Red Knight selected in Phase 1 of the USHL draft, May 7, the phase of the draft in which teams were allowed to select players with a 1997 birth year. He was taken with the 12th pick of the fifth round by Waterloo.

Will Duda

Duda scored two goals in 2012-13, including one during the Red Knights' Hockey Day in Minnesota game in Grand Rapids.

Duda took part in the HP 16 Festival, where he tallied a goal, which proved to be a game winner, and an assist in three games following his first season in the Red Knight program, coming off a season in which he scored two goals in 16 varsity games.

Peter Heimbold

Heimbold scored two goals and seven points in 26 games during his rookie campaign for the Red Knights.

One of two freshmen on the Red Knight varsity squad in 2012-13, Heimbold was the fifth BSM player to take part in the HP 16 Festival.

The Red Knight defenseman tallied one goal in three games during the tournament.

Head Coach Ken Pauly

BSM head coach Ken Pauly has amassed 354 wins in 20 seasons as the Red Knights' head coach.

Pauly helped coach the Minnesota Senior All-Stars to the championship of the CCM National Invitational Tournament as his team defeated defending champion Michigan, 6-2, to earn the title.

Off the ice, Pauly joined Minnetonka's Brian Urick and South St. Paul's Scott Macho on WCCO's Sports to the Max show to discuss Minnesota high school hockey. The podcast can be heard at http://minnesota.cbslocal.com/audio-on-demand/sports-to-the-max/#.
