Austin Wuthrich scored a short-handed goal, eight minutes, four seconds into the contest but the Swiss got a power-play tally with 2:57 remaining in the opening frame.
Horn then gave the U.S. the lead with 21 seconds remaining in the period when he took a long pass off the board from defenseman Connor Murphy before Switzerland goalie Luca Botthauser over his glove.
