Comeback bid was not enough versus Centennial

The Red Knights fought valiantly against the Cougars in the championship game, but were unable to get the tying goal in the final minutes and Centennial hung on for a 4 - 3 victory.

Centennial got on the scoreboard just 1:29 into the contest on a goal by Max Zebro.  The Red Knights tied the score at the 11:33 mark on a shot by Chris Flood, with Ryan Minkoff and Dominic Burg on the assists.  Centennial answered right back just 17 seconds later on a goal by Cody Larson.

The Cougars increased their lead to 3 - 1 on a goal by Jake Flynn 7:59 into the second period.  They struck again 34 seconds later on a shot by Sean Riley.  Trailing 4 - 1, the Red Knights began to chip away and just 44 seconds before the end of the period, Taylor Topousis found the back of the net with the assists going to Dominic Burg and Ryan Minkoff.  The Red Knights trailed 4 - 2 going into the third period even though they outshot Centennial 14 – 6 for the period.

BSM controlled much of the play in the third period, outshooting Centennial 10 - 2.  They were able to creep within a goal at the 10:14 mark on a shot by Joe Haselman. Despite a furious flurry at the end of the game, the Red Knights were not able to get the equalizer.

BSM outshot Centennial for the game by a 30 - 16 margin.  The Red Knights return to league play facing St. Louis Park on January 7th.
