Red Knight junior varsity suffers first MWC loss of the season.

ST. LOUIS PARK, Minn. -- Bloomington Jefferson jumped out to a quick lead and never looked back as the Jaguars handed the Benilde-St. Margaret's junior varsity a 4-1 defeat.

The loss was the first in four outings versus a Metro West Conference opponent this season for the Red Knights.

Jefferson scored on the power play, just two minutes, 25 seconds into the game, added another goal just over five minutes later and then tacked on single goals in the second and third periods to take a four-goal lead.

The Red Knights ended goalie Max Ritchie's bid for a shutout when Will Thompson scored with 11 minutes to play, just 29 seconds after the Jaguars had taken a 4-0 lead.

Will Thompson's team-leading 13th goal of the season proved to be the Red Knights' lone tally.

BSM had a 30-25 edge in shots on goal with Jonathan Vitelli recording 21 saves.

The Red Knights return to action Saturday to face Bloomington Kennedy, another Metro West Conference opponent, in a 12:30 p.m. contest.
