Limesand records fifth shutout in 0-0 tie.

BLOOMINGTON, Minn. -- Carson Limesand and Evan Redepenning squared off in a goaltending duel and both posted shutouts as Benilde-St. Margaret's and Bloomington Jefferson ended their regular season in a 0-0 tie.

For the Red Knights, the tie was the end to an unbeaten record in Metro West Conference play and their second conference crown in three seasons.

For Limesand, the shutout was his fifth of the season, tying him for second on BSM's all-time single season list. The five shutouts in a season are the most ever by a Red Knight freshman.

BSM had a decided advantage in shots on goal, outshooting the Jaguars, 38-17. However, Redepenning turned aside everything thrown at him.

Nate Schweitzer had six shots on goal and blocked a pair of shots.

Meanwhile, BSM's penalty killers shined, going 6-for-6, including a key penalty kill in the final 73 seconds of regulation time and the first 43 seconds of overtime, a two-minute kill in which they did not allow a shot on goal.

The Red Knights take a 12-11-2 record into Section 6AA playoff action, seeds for which will be announced Sunday.
