Naas inks deal with AHL's Cleveland Monsters

Red Knight alum turns pro after four-year career at UConn.

Spencer Naas ('14) has signed an Amateur Tryout Agreement with the Cleveland Monsters of the American Hockey League.

Naas joined the Red Knights in 2012 and spent two seasons at BSM, scoring 65 goals and 125 points in 55 games. He was a Mr. Hockey finalist in 2014 following a 31-goal, 60-point season. He reached the 30-goal and 60-point marks in both of his BSM campaigns.

He has spent the last four seasons at the University of Connecticut. He notched 49 goals and 77 points in 143 career games for the Huskies. He led the team with 111 shots on goal in 2017-18 and tied for the team lead with 12 goals while tallying 24 points.

Naas will be in Cleveland tonight for the Monsters' game versus Chicago. He joins another former Red Knight, Ryan Collins, with Cleveland, the top affiliate of the NHL's Columbus Blue Jackets.


Spencer Naas scored 65 goals and 125 points in just 55 games during his two seasons as a Red Knight.
