Red Knights outplay hosts in final 17 minutes.

EDINA, Minn. -- Benilde-St. Margaret's scored twice in the third period, held a 13-11 advantage in shots on goal over the final 17 minutes and controlled much of the play.

Still, a three-goal Edina first period enabled the second-ranked Hornets to claim a 5-2 win over the 18th-ranked Red Knights.

A short-handed goals by Kevin Delaney, two minutes, 11 seconds, into the second period gave the hosts a 4-0 but, two minutes later, Cooper Gay poked home a loose puck for his first career goal.

The score remained that way until 2:13 into the final period when the Hornets restored the four-goal lead but, barely three minutes later, Adam Marshall also scored his first career goal when he finish a goalmouth scramble while on the power play.

Marshall had a team-best four shots on goal, two days after recording nine shots on goal in a 5-4 win over Hopkins.

The Red Knights return home, Saturday, for a 2:30 p.m. matinee affair with Grand Rapids before a six date respite from action.

Nate Schweitzer set up both Red Knight goals.
