Four-goal outburst enables Pioneers to upend Red Knights.

ST. LOUIS PARK, Minn. -- Hill-Murray scored four second-period goal, including two in the final minute, and quickly pulled away from Benilde-St. Margaret's for a 7-2 win.

The first-period looked like anything but a runaway as the teams played to a 1-1 tie through the opening 15 minutes. Nic Dokman's goal with one minute, 38 second remaining in the frame tied the game entering the first intermission.

The scored remained that way until the Pioneers regain the lead 6:17 into the second period and they made it 3-1 less than three minutes later.

The back-breaking moment came in the period's final minutes when Hill-Murray took a 4-1 with 51 seconds on the clock and then, with 1.5 seconds remaining, they made it a 5-1 game.

Ian Thorstenson's fourth goal of the season, 5:30 into the final period, cut the lead to three goals but the Pioneers sealed the win with a pair of late goals.

The Red Knights open Metro West Conference play Thursday, when they host Bloomington Jefferson in a 5 p.m. game.

Ian Thorstenson opened the third-period scoring with his third goal of the season.
