Mesenburg's three-point night leads Red Knights to six-goal win.

ST. LOUIS PARK, Minn. -- Benilde-St. Margaret's returned home for the first time in 26 days and responded by snapping a two-game losing streak with a 7-1 win over St. Michael-Albertville.

The Red Knights took a little time to get going and it was on the power play that the got their first goal, when Adam Marshall's pass from the right circle found Nate Schweitzer just inside the blue line. His shot through traffic found the back of the net and BSM had the lead.

Marshall also set up the second goal of the game for the Red Knights when he had a pair of shots before Jett Johnson buried a rebound with 51 seconds to play in the opening frame.

The hosts made it a 3-0 game when Charlie Bischel left the puck for Asher Connolly, trailing a rush. Connolly got off two shots before Bischel snuck in from the left side and scord 5:27 into the middle stanza.

Adam Flammang's 29th goal of the season cut the lead to 3-1 less than three minutes later but BSM put the game away late in the period.

With 2:10 remaining, Tristan Sarsland took a pass from Mesenburg outside the top of the slot and blasted a shot through traffic for his second goal of the season.

Mesenburg then scored a highlight-reel goal when he picked up the puck at center ice, made moves around two players before snapping a show from low in the right circle with 53.4 seconds remaining on the clock.

Nate Schweitzer scored a pair of special teams goals, including his first career short-handed tally.

Brady Giertsen capped off the night by tipping a Brady Yakesh shot for his first career goal.

The goal would bring on back up goalie Aaron Loch for just his third appearance of the season to start the third period.

Loch stopped the first two shots he faced but the third came when Brady Yakesh poked a puck loose along the right wing boards in his own zone. Schweitzer skated it through the neutral zone and went to the net and scored with a shot on the short side.

BSM wrapped up the scoring with 31 seconds left when they worked the puck around the Knights' zone. Jonny Woodford got the puck to Yakesh, who shot from nearly the identical location as he did on his goal. This time, however, Brady Giertsen redirected the puck in front of the net to close out the scoring.

Carson Limesand stopped 15 of the 16 shots he faced before giving way to Jonnie Vitelli, who also made his third appearance of the season, turning aside the three shots he faced in the game's final 6:19.

The Red Knights will be the away team, Thursday, when they're back at the St. Louis Park Recreation Center for a 7 p.m. showdown with St. Louis Park.
