Hankinson records first career three-point outing to lead Red Knights.

ST. LOUIS PARK, Minn. -- Three goals in under two minutes, late in the first period, turned a one-goal game decidedly in Benilde-St. Margaret's favor and the Red Knights went onto a 7-3 win over St. Louis Park.

Even though Willie Hower's power-play goal, four minutes, 45 seconds into the game, gave BSM the initial lead, it was a three-goal outburst in the span of 1:53 which turned the game in the Red Knights' favor.

Jake Runman opened the burst with 3:47 to play in the period and Aiden Wahlstrom followed at the 12:41 mark.

The rally ended 25 seconds later, with 1:54 to play in the period, when Logan Lyke scored his team-leading 11th goal of the season.

The lead went to 5-0 when Ian Thorstenson scored the first of his two goals just 2:15 into the second period but the Orioles answered that goal five minutes later and, with a power-play goal 42 seconds into the final period, cut the lead to 5-2.

Willie scored his second goal with 3:38 to play in the game but the hosts countered that goal just nine seconds later to quickly make it a three-goal game again.

BSM finally put the game away with 1:22 to play in the game when Thorstenson scored his second goal of the game, this time on the power play, to wrap up the scoring.

Jake Hankinson recorded a career-best three assists, setting up both of Thorstenson's goal and both the game's first and last goals, while Hower also had a three-point night with two goals and an assist.

Ian Thorstenson's first two-goal game helped lead the Red Knights to victory.

BSM had a 40-22 advantage in shots on goal with Charlie Frattalone stopping 19 shots for the Red Knights, who close out the 2018-19 campaign, Saturday, when they host Bloomington Kennedy in a 1 p.m. game Saturday.
