Moore's hat trick leads Red Knight onslaught.

Dan Labosky raised his state-leading assist total to 36 by recording five against the Panthers.

T.J. Moore's first hat trick of the season led a Benilde-St. Margarets' offensive onslaught which led to an 11-0 Red Knight win over Rochester Century.

It took the Lineys less than five minutes into the game to get the first of their five goals as Grant Besse and Dan Labosky set up Moore's goal, four minutes, 26 seconds into the game.

Despite a 21-5 advantage in shots on goal in the opening period, BSM would get just one more puck past the Panthers' Eric Rohleder when Besse scored his 29th goal of the season with 5:41 to play in the opening session.

However, a five-goal second period would put the game away for the Red Knights and special teams got the first two goals.

When Johnny Austin was whistled for BSM's lone penalty of the game, at 4:48 of the second period, the Red Knight penalty kill went to work.

When the Panthers tried cycling the puck out of the right corner, goalie Paul Lundberg tipped a pass which Labosky knocked to the ice and he was off to the races, speeding up the left side of the ice until he was to the bottom of the left circle in the Century zone, from where he centered the puck for Spencer Naas, who tipped in the pass from the low slot.

BSM would then score on the power play as, once again, Labosky and Besse set up Moore for a goal, at 7:59, and 26 seconds later it was Seth Chumley who skated in from his own blue line before snapping in a shot from the bottom of the right circle.

Moore completed his hat trick with 4:30 to play in the period and Peter Heimbold's shot from the top of the slot found the back of the net with 2:20 showing on the clock as the Red Knights carried a 7-0 lead into the second intermission.

The third period got off to a fast start as Besse scored just 54 seconds into the final frame, marking the fourth consecutive season in which he has reached the 30-goal plateau. The goal also moved him into fifth on the state's all-time goal scoring list with 145, surpassing the career total of Red Wing's Johnny Pohl.

Naas followed that by scoring his 20th goal of the season at 7:55 on a setup pass by Chase Jungels. He returned the favor just over five minutes later, assisting on Jungels' fifth goal of the season, marking the third consecutive game in which the sophomore winger has tallied a goal.

Nate Meyer would finish the scoring with 2:43 to play when he scored his third goal of the season.

BSM held a 68-8 advantage in shots on goal, attempting 100 total shots. In goal, Lundberg stopped eight shots to record the shutout in his first varsity start, in addition to collecting an assist on Naas' short-handed goal.

Next up for the fourth-ranked Red Knights is a trip to Pokegema Lake, Saturday, for Hockey Day in Minnesota. There, they will meet No. 12 Grand Rapids in a 1 p.m. which will be featured on Fox Sports North.
