Duda extends goal-scoring streak to give BSM fourth tie of the season.

Jalen Long stopped all 20 shots he faced in 29 minutes of work in recording his fourth tie of the season.

Will Duda extended his goal-scoring streak to four games and Jalen Long stopped all 20 shots he faced in a relief role as Benilde-St. Margaret's came from behind to garner a 2-2 tie with Holy Family.

Long stopped six second-period after making a schedule relief appearance of Peter Thome with eight minutes, 54 seconds to play in the second period and the Fire having just taken a 2-1 lead.

Holy Family overcame an early deficit as Zach Risteau scored 5:19 into the game to give the hosts a 1-0 advantage.

Duda's 12th goal of the season, and ninth in his last four games, came 3:04 into the third period after he got the puck from Long and skated through the neutral and offensive zones before finding the back of the net.

With 1:55 to play in the period, he has hooked on a breakaway and awarded a penalty shot, but was thwarted on the attempt by Fire goalie Alex Wilson and the game went into overtime.

The Red Knights began the overtime session with their second power-play of the game but we unable to convert the chance and, with two minutes to play, Holy Family went on its fourth power play but could not generate a shot.

The game ended with the team's skating four-on-four following a Holy Family penalty and, as the clock wound down, the Fire's Chase Paradise fired a shot from the left faceoff circle. Long stopped the shot but, as Paradise crashed into him, the puck found its way into the net.

However, the apparent goal, which barely beat the final horn, was waved off when officials determined the net had moved off its moorings before the puck crossed the goal line.

Long, who was in goal when the game-deciding goal was scored, recorded his fourth tie of the season. He turned aside all 12 shots he faced in the third period and made two more saves in overtime as the teams each record 30 shots on goal.

BSM is idle until next Wednesday when it will host the Midget AA team of Shattuck-St. Mary's in a 5 p.m. game at the St. Louis Park Rec Center.
