Nate Meyer collects hat trick in BSM debut

Benilde-St. Margaret's scored twice in the game's first three minutes, 31 seconds, and went on to rack up a 17-0 win in its season opener at St. Cloud Tech.

Nate Meyer scored three goals in his debut as a Red Knight and Tanner Ahlborn had a goal and four assists to lead the way.

Danny Liberko scored just two minutes into the affair on his first shift in a BSM uniform and the Red Knights used a 24-2 advantage in shots on goal to take a 4-0 first-period lead.

If the Tigers had any thoughts of getting back in the game, they ended in the second period as the visitors tallied seven goals, including four in a span of 1:25 in the middle of the frame.

Liberko, Mikey Lamb, Matt Cornell and Storm Sullivan each scored two goals and Chris Hickok and Zach Gionet, both of whom scored a goal, added three assists each.

BSM returns to action, Thursday, with a 5:30 p.m. game at Hill-Murray.
