Benilde-St. Margaret's Boys' Hockey

Grant Besse recorded his ninth career hat trick and had a career-high six points as Benilde-St. Margaret's routed St. Cloud Tech, 16-0, in both teams' season opener.

Seventeen of the Red Knights' 18 skaters recorded points in the victory, with 14 turning in multiple-point performances.

Jake Horton, Tyler Ellegard and Dan Labosky each scored twice while Jake O'Borsky and Christian Horn, both of whom scored a goal, added four assists apiece.

BSM held a 64-12 advantage in shots on goal and Anders Jecha recorded his fifth career shutout with the victory.

The third-ranked Red Knights are back in action Thursday when they take on seventh-ranked Hill-Murray. Game time at Aldrich Arena is slated for 7:30 p.m.
