Ahlborn scores twice in BSM road win

Tanner Ahlborn scored twice in the first period and Paul Lundberg turned in a 23-save effort as Benilde-St. Margaret's won its second JV contest of the season with a 4-3 win at Hill-Murray.

Ahlborn scored on the Red Knights' lone power-play chance of the game, just three minutes, 38 seconds into the game, and added his second goal with 1:52 to play in the opening frame at BSM took a 3-1 lead.

The second period was a scoreless with Lundberg stopping eight shots in the middle stanza and 17 of the 18 shots through the game's first 30 minutes as the Red Knights' took the two-goal lead into the final period.

Hill-Murray scored on the power play just 1:25 into the final period to cut the deficit to one goal but, 3:32 later, Storm Sullivan restored the lead to two goals with his second goal of the season.

The cut the lead to one goal again with 3:11 to play in the game but Lundberg made the margin stand up for the victory.

Chris Hickok had a pair of assists in the game, assisting on both of Ahlborn's goals. Matt Cornell added the other first-period goal for BSM.

The Red Knights have a week off before return to action with a 5 p.m. game, Dec. 8, at Burnsville.
