Linemates combine for 10-point effort

Storm Sullivan recorded his first hat trick as a Red Knight and he combined with linemates Tanner Ahlborn and Zach Gionet for 10-points to leads the Benilde-St. Margaret's junior varsity to a 6-1 win over the Marshall School.

Sullivan scored the game's first two goals, assisted on the next two and scored the Red Knights' final goal for a career-best five-point performance.

After giving his team a 1-0 lead just three minutes, 35 seconds into the game, Sullivan and Gionet scored goals eight seconds apart late in the period to send the home into the first intermission with a 3-0 lead.

The score remained that way until late in the second period when, with 2:53 to play, Chris Hickok's shot from the left point found it's way through traffic and into the net for a 4-0 lead.

It tooks BSM less than five minutes in the final period to put the game into running time. Matt Mogensen scored 2:08 into third period and Sullivan completed his hat trick at 4:43.

Will Jarvis made 17 saves for the Red Knights but lost his shutout bid with 1:33 to play in the game when John McKenna scored an unassisted short-handed goal for the Hilltoppers.

BSM is home again Tuesday when it plays host to Holy Angels in a 5 p.m. game at the St. Louis Park Rec Center.
