Dylan Popehn's hat trick gives him six goals in four games.
ST. LOUIS PARK -- Dylan Popehn scored all three Benilde-St. Margaret's goals, including a game-clinching power-play goal with four minutes, 26 seconds to play, as the Red Knights handed Cretin-Derham Hall a 3-1 defeat.
BSM limited the Raiders to 16 shots, holding a 43-16 advantage on the night, including a 19-5 margin in the decisive third period.
After scoring 5:43 into the game for a 1-0 Red Knight lead, Popehn scored the eventual game winner with 20 seconds remaining in the middle period, stealing the puck off the stick of a CDH defenseman and quickly putting it in the back of the net.
He then sealed the victory in the third period with his power-play tally.
Charlie Winegarner raised his record to 3-0-1 on the season as he stopped 15 of the 16 shots he faced.
Next up is a 12 p.m. game, Saturday, versus Holy Angels at Richfield Arena.
Liam Moser set up the game's first goal and leads the team with five assists.
