Red Knight junior varsity blasts Bears

Four-goal first and third periods leads to 9-0 win over Blake.

HOPKINS, Minn. -- Westan Quirk scored twice, added three assists, and the Benilde-St. Margaret's junior varsity remained unbeaten with a 9-0 win at Blake.

After collecting a pair of first-period assists, Quirk scored twice in the third period, including a short-handed goal just 38 seconds into the final frame.

Taylor Salmon scored twice and added an assist, as did Liam Moser, who helped seal the win with points on three of BSM's four goals. He also had a game-high nine shots on goal.

Logan Nowlin made his second consecutive start in net for the Red Knights and was the beneficiary of the offensive onslaught, which saw BSM hold a 56-9 advantage in shots on goal to give Nowlin his first shutout.

The Red Knights are back in action, Thursday, as they face Hill-Murray in a 5:15 p.m. game on the East Rink at the SLP Rec Center.

 


Taylor Salmon scored twice and was one of seven Red Knights to record a multiple-point game.
