BSM rebounds from opening loss to win twice to end 2022.

ST. LOUIS PARK, Minn. -- Drew Stewart continued his torrid scoring, with six points in three games, and, after a 9-3 drubbing in the opening game, Benilde-St. Margaret's rebounded with a pair of wins to round out the Tradition in the Park Holiday Classic.

The Red Knights scored the game's first two goals but the Huskies responded by scoring the next eight en route to a 9-3 win.

Michael Risteau scored just 27 seconds into the game and Drew Stewart made it 2-0 less than two minutes later.

However, goals 25 seconds apart got Andover going and the Huskies went onto score four goals in both the first and second periods to take an 8-1 lead.

Risteau's second goal of the game, a power-play effort, sent the game into the final period with Andover holding an 8-3 lead but the Huskies sent the game into running time just 46 seconds into the final period when Gavyn Thoreson, who tallied six points on the night, scored his fourth goal of the game.

Michael Risteau scored two of the Red Knights' three goals.

Brennan Chapman made 21 saves in earning his first career shutout.

BSM 2, St. Louis Park 0

Brennan Chapman made 21 saves to record his first career shutout and a pair of first-period goals was all the Red Knights would need in a 2-0 win over St. Louis Park.

Ryan Baird scored just one minute, 17 seconds into the game and Drew Stewart scored in the final two minutes of the opening period, with each assisting on the other's goal, to give BSM all the offense it would need.

Meanwhile, Chapman, in just his second start of the season and fifth of his career, made nine saves in the first period to help the Red Knights get underway.

BSM 7, Lakeville South 1

Seven different players scored goals and 13 players recorded points as the Red Knights ended 2022 with a 7-1 win over Lakeville South.

Michael Risteau scored the game's first goal for the second time in three games and Wes Berg's power-play tally, with four minutes, 56 seconds to play in the opening stanza, gave BSM the lead for good.

A three-goal second period, backed by Mason McElroy's seven saves, put the game practically out of reach as Maceo Phillips, Poul Anderson and Ryan Baird scored goals in less than four minutes to turn the game into a 5-1 runaway.

The final period saw a pair of goals come from the team's depth players as Maximos Wendt scored a power-play goal with 6:40 to play and the final 2:17 of the game was played in running time after Peter Giertsen's second goal of the season.

McElroy, who was pulled from Tuesday's game after giving up six goals in 22 minutes, turned aside 17 of the 18 shots he faced.

Maximos Wendt was one of three players with a goal and an assist for the Red Knights.
